Is it better to build a native app or a hybrid/web app for a startup?

We're about to start building our first product and are stuck on a fundamental tech decision. Our developers are pushing for a native app for the best performance, but I'm worried about the time and cost to develop and maintain two separate codebases for iOS and Android. A cross-platform framework seems faster, but will it hurt the user experience? For those who have gone through this, how did you decide on the right application design and development approach? What factors should weigh most heavily?

This is one of the most critical early decisions, and the right answer really depends on your specific goals, audience, and resources. The guide you need breaks down the pros and cons of native, hybrid, and web apps perfectly. It goes beyond just the tech to cover how this choice impacts your entire projectfrom user experience and performance to long-term scalability and maintenance costs. It also ties this decision into the broader application design and development process, including planning your MVP and choosing a tech stack. For a balanced, strategic look that will help your team align, I highly recommend this guide on application design and development.
